Major Achievements in 2025

·       We organized and carried out Disability Awareness Day on August 14, 2025, at the Martin County Fair. At this event, over 100 adults and children with disabilities received free admission to the Fair, $10 to spend on food, and free carnival rides from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. We paid for transportation to the Fair by Prairie Lakes Transit buses for people who needed it.

·       We requested that December 10, 2025, be recognized by the Martin County Board of Commissioners and the Fairmont City Council as Human Rights Day. This day is observed annually around the world to commemorate the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. Both the county board and the city council read the proclamation aloud into the record of their official meetings on December 2 and December 8, respectively.

·       Our members (Meg A and Hannah W) created a Facebook page for our group and maintained it to increase our social media presence.

·       We supported the Arc Minnesota Aktion Club Theatre Performances on November 21 and 22, 2025 through our attendance and individual member participation. We took part in the Million Millimeter Mini Marathon on May 17, 2025, through our participation and individual member donations.

·       We increased community awareness of our Mission through participation in local events including the Martin County Fair, and the Heritage Acres Fall Festival on October 19, 2025.

·       We organized and hosted the appearance of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison at the Red Rock Center for the Performing Arts on October 25, 2025, where he presented remarks on civil rights and human rights and fielded questions from citizens who attended.

·       We applied for and received our 501c3 federal nonprofit organization status and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the State of Minnesota.

Fundraising Activities

FAHRO volunteers participated in fundraising activities throughout the year to raise money to pay for our Mission-driven activities. We were assisted in fundraising by the generosity of commercial organizations including the Walnut Grove Mercantile of Marshall, McDonald’s restaurant of Fairmont, and Pizza Hut restaurant of Blue Earth.

In addition, our donors provided financial gifts and in-kind contributions to help make our activities successful.
